aahhhh... jonesing for the internet...
some things going on around here...
my mom arrived on friday...safe and sound...
emma is crazy about her, and the kids are just fawning all over her.
i knew that the break would do good for their relationships...
emma is in the beginning stages of crawling, up on her knees and rocking back and forth...of course, when she moves at all, it's backwards, but that's beside the point... :)
she, in one week mind you, decided that this eating thing is good after all.
last week:
she was shoving all food back out faster than I could insert it, either with her tongue or by doing a raspberry (yeah, you can see me can't you, little bits of orange and green ALL over me...yep...fun times...)
this week:
i absolutely cannot keep the food in her mouth fast enough...it's like she thinks that if it's empty, then there is no more coming... it is actually really funny, by the time the spoon hits the bowl after leaving her mouth, she is fussing for more...
yeah...fun times...
no really, it is fun times...we are so blessed.
we had a great 4th of july and will post pics soon of that.
ummm...kids are doing great.
tim is exhausted...(what else is new), he has been working alot of extra hours lately AND is driving all the way to Atlanta every day...
ummm...i'm gonna leave it at that, and go finish my grocery shopping...
TA-TA everyone!

groaners...
My favorite is #7
1. Two vultures board an airplane, each carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at them and says, "I'm sorry, gentlemen, only one carrion allowed per passenger."
2. Did you hear that NASA recently put a bunch of Holsteins into low earth orbit? They called it the herd shot 'round the world.
3. Two boll weevils grew up in South Carolina. One went to Hollywood and became a famous actor. The other stayed behind inthe cotton fields and never amounted to much. The second one, naturally, became known as the lesser of two weevils.
4. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, but when they lit a fire in the craft, it sank proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it, too.
5. A three legged dog walks into a saloon in the Old West. He slides up to the bar and announces: "I'm looking for the man who shot my paw."
6. Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocaine during a root canal? He wanted to transcend dental medication.
7. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?" they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said, "I can't stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."
8. A woman has twins, and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Amal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal."
9. These friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went backand begged the friars to close. They ignored him. So, the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to "persuade" them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he'd be back if they didn't close up shop. Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that: Hugh, and only Hugh, can prevent florist friars.
10. And finally, There was a man who sent ten different puns to friends, in the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
HA!

Random Chloe Quote #492 and #493
Chloe said,"When can I have some popubler?" that's pronounced paw-pub-ler... so cute... we didn't correct her and just let her keep saying it the whole night... "Is the popubler ready?"... "I love popubler!"...."Can I have more popubler?" ...
Today, as I was making dinner, she overheard Tim say that we still had some okra in the freezer, and she came running into the kitchen and said,
"Where's the yokra?"
"The what?", I said.
"The yokra, the fried yokra!!" she exclaimed!
After seeing our snickers, she proceeded...
"The pokra, tokra, vokra, bokra.....oh, whatever it's called!"
Oh the joys of motherhood...truly.

NY Times article: "Breast-Feed or Else..."
It was sooo informative, anyone who wanted to know some in depth information about the benefits of breastfeeding vs. formula would be smart to check it out...
I always say that the best advice for new parents (and even grandparents) is to be educated FIRSTHAND...check things out yourself, don't just take everyone else's word to be truth... Things may not be as the average Joe believes them to be... BE SMART, BE EDUCATED!
Here's the link:
http://endlessrhetoric.blogspot.com/2006/06/breast-feed-or-else.html
Take the time to read it all...it really is a wonderful article, very factual and not judgemental.

random chloe conversation...
Front porch, Me sitting on porch chair in the sun...Chloe halfway up the ladder that was left out from working on house... All is quiet and calm...
Chloe:(very quietly) "I wish the world would start over again..."
Me:(slightly confused, perhaps I heard wrong) "What?"
Chloe: (slightly louder) "I said, I wish the world would start over again..."
Me:(very confused, I didn't hear wrong) "What do you mean?"
Chloe: "Like, do everything over again from the beginning"
Me: "Would you do something different, or just do it all again?"
Chloe: "No, not different, do the same stuff, just all over again..."
Me: "Okay, WHY would you want to do that?
Chloe: "Because I forgot to do something and I wanted to do it"
Me: (Okay, we're making more sense now, I think) " I see... and what did you forget to do?"
Chloe: "I forgot"
Me: (holding back the laughter, there goes the sense...) "Sooo, you forgot what you forgot to do? And you want to start the world over, to do what you forgot that you forgot??"
Chloe: (kinda sheepishly) "Yeah..."
Hello Reader's Digest... although, could the general public even keep up with Chloe's mind?
Go figure.

meghan coffee at eddie's attic...
Morgan, the lovely, sweet, wonderful girl she is, decided to send Tim and I off on a much needed date...as a thank you for, well...lots of different things, as she says. She took the kids out to eat and rented a movie for them and well, they had a blast. She even gave us the moola for our night out!!! What a gal, huh?
We found out that our friend Meghan Coffee (see link on right) was to be playing at Eddie's Attic in Atlanta! So...truly hungry for some nightlife outside of little 'ol Washington, we high-tailed it to downtown Decatur (Atlanta) for the show. Meghan couldn't believe we drove so far to see her, but we would do it more if we weren't getting so old!! (ha, ha!) We had an incredible time and made it home at 3 AM!!! We were soooo tired today, it was crazy.
Anyway, I have some pics AND some video for you(need to check with meg on that first, but will add it later if she's okay with it)... and if you like what you hear, then click on her link to the right (under "random links") and check her out. She is in the process of signing her first label VERY soon... She is absolutely incredible and has such a unique sound that is refreshing compared to today's artists...
PS: I have a new digital camera, but I am not allowed to say who it's from....so, ummmm....yeah.
A composite thingee that my camera can do...
Emma took a nice little nap during Meghan's set...Way to go Meg...Maybe Jeremy Camp can be replaced...hmmmm.
She enjoyed most of the night awake though...but happy, I will say...
Tim and I, so glad to have a night together...
This is Meg.
And again with the band.
I grabbed her for a quick pic after the show
This is Erin, Meghan's sister, also a good friend.
The waitress did a quick caricature of Emma...pretty good for 5 minutes in the dark.
The following are just some cool pics that I took with my new camera. Still learning.
Downtown Washington, the square, 3 AM
Tail lights on I-20, believe it or not.
WILD.
i like this one the best.
Tim and I goofing with the camera in the van...
Thanks Morgan and Meghan for an AWESOME date night.
